Summary The Baylor St. Luke's Medical Group is a collaboration between Baylor College of Medicine and CHI St. Luke's. This group seeks a committed physician for Orthopedic role. The provider will have direct patient care responsibilities. The position will report to a BCM department head and a director of BSLMG. Performance goals will be determined based on patient volume and production. In addition to providing the full spectrum of pediatric orthopedic surgery care this surgeon will also participate in call.  Full participation in the education programs of the Department in coordination with the Chief of the Division of Orthopedic Surgery will also be expected.  This position will be based primarily at the Texas Children's Hospital West campus.   Minimum Education: M.D. Successful completion of the ACGME Orthopedic Surgery Residency Successful completion of a Hand Surgery Fellowship and Pediatric Hand/Upper Extremity Fellowship   Minimum Certification/Licensure: Board certified / board eligible by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery

In addition to providing the full spectrum of pediatric orthopedic surgery care this surgeon will also participate in call.  Full participation in the education programs of the Department in coordination with the Chief of the Division of Orthopedic Surgery will also be expected.  This position will be based primarily at the Texas Children's Hospital Woodlands campus.   Education Requirements M.D. Successful completion of the ACGME Orthopedic Surgery Residency Successful completion of a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery fellowship   Minimum Certification/Licensure: - Board certified / board eligible by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery to ongoing education.

Duties include direct patient care and participation in the education of medical students or residents and fellows. Direct outpatient care for 8-9 half-day sessions a week. As a member of our sports medicine team, participate in athletic team and event coverage, attend educational conferences, and participate in team meetings. Participate in faculty meetings and other departmental conferences. Contribute to quality improvement, educational, and/or research projects. Keep up with continuing medical education as per college and specialty requirements. Renewing and meeting all required licenses and certification requirements. Complete all documentation in a timely manner so that billing and other administrative tasks can happen smoothly to ensure a robust operational system.

Obtain detailed history and perform physical examinations. Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic procedures in accordance with relevant health concerns of the patient. Prescribes appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments. Maintain records and write orders and progress notes in patient charts as to status, treatments, and procedures. Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records. Provide follow-up health maintenance care to patients in accordance with protocols established with the supervising physician. Communicate with physicians, patients, and the family members of patients concerning patient care. Collaborates with providers, and practice staff in identifying appropriate patients for care management. Perform other job related duties as assigned.
