Assistant/Associate Professor - Orthopaedic Surgery, Shoulder and Elbow
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Connecticut in Farmington, CT seeks candidates for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in the academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Orthopaedic Shoulder & Elbow Surgery. Applicants must have an M.D. degree, must be Board Certified or Board Eligible and have completed Fellowship Training in Shoulder & Elbow Surgery or Sports Medicine with a desire to perform Shoulder Arthroplasty, complex rotator cuff and instability surgery.
Teaching responsibilities will include medical student, resident and fellow education in Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine.
Clinical responsibilities will include a predominantly shoulder and elbow focused orthopaedic surgery practice at UCONN Health with on call responsibilities.
The surgeon will join a Sports Medicine Division consisting of four other surgeons, three non-operative providers and sports-focused neurology.
The UConn Health Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is housed in the 100,000 square foot Musculoskeletal Institute consisting of academic offices, clinic offices, an outpatient surgery center, MRI, CT and rehabilitation services. In addition, there is a 22,000 square foot biomechanics, cell biology and psychomotor skills lab with research support personnel. The opportunity and resources for research are unparalleled.
