Adult Medical Oncologist, Sarcoma Program The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins

General Description The Department of Oncology and the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine are recruiting a board eligible/ board certified MD or MD PhD medical oncologist with experience in basic, clinical or translational research in the field of adult sarcoma. The ideal candidate will be a junior faculty member or recent graduate of a fellowship training program in medical oncology. Clinical responsibilities will be in the care of adult patients with sarcoma, and research activities will be aligned with the interests and expertise of the candidate. Protected time for research activities will be afforded. The junior faculty member will have access to clinical and research mentoring in sarcoma. A formal Cancer Center Junior Faculty Mentoring Committee will be assembled and required in order to form and maintain priorities and goals consistent with professional and academic advancement and success.   The candidate will join an active multi-disciplinary Sarcoma Program at Johns Hopkins. The Sarcoma Program currently includes, in addition to medical oncologists, dedicated extremity bone and soft tissue orthopedic oncologists, abdominal and retroperitoneal surgical oncologists, and radiation oncology expertise in both conventional IMRT and proton-based therapies. Additionally, dedicated pathology support with both bone and soft tissue expertise, access to in-house comprehensive molecular testing, advanced radiology techniques for musculoskeletal and abdominal/retroperitoneal sarcomas, a comprehensive pediatric sarcoma program with five basic and translational research focused faculty members, and a combined pediatric/adult weekly tumor board with all the above disciplines present will complement the practice of the new faculty member. Start-up packages will be available and will be considered in line with the candidate's experience and planned research activities.
