Position Description
Performs professional level work at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center by conducting classes on a per-course or limited-term basis, without any guarantee of continuing employment. Responsibilities encompass the coordination and instruction of one or more courses within a prescribed curriculum. Teachers in this classification usually specialize in the academic subject, professional discipline or technical skill being taught at the time of employment. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based upon results obtained. May supervise subordinate employees assigned to area of responsibility.
Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions
The applicant shall be a licensed physical therapist with a terminal doctoral degree (Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Science, or similar) and at least ten years of experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy; prior entry-level DPT teaching experience is required.
Responsibilities will include coordinating the following DPT courses: HPPT 8203 Functional Anatomy (summer), HPPT 8209 Clinical Applied Physiology (fall), and HPPT 8310 Therapeutic Exercise (spring). Coordination responsibilities will include organizing and presenting course content to DPT students via lecture and on-site lab (if applicable), developing, maintaining, and grading course assignments and assessments, advising students regarding course content, and communicating with and coordinating lab teaching assistants. Anticipated teaching schedules are as follows: Summer – Monday 1:00-3:00 (lecture), Tuesday 1:00-5:00 (lab); Fall – Wednesday 1:00-3:00 (lecture); Spring – Monday 1:00-3:00 (lecture), Wednesday 1:00-5:00 (lab).
