The PM&R Section in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Stanford University seeks a physiatrist with an interest in neurorehabilitation to join the department the Clinician Educator Line (CE). This position is primarily based in the Stanford University Neurosciences Health Center and the Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto, CA. Clinical duties include outpatient management of patients with stroke, brain injury and other chronic neuromuscular disorders; and coverage of the PM&R consult service at Stanford University Hospital. Responsibilities also include mentorship and teaching of our PM&R residents, co-workers and ancillary staff The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Medical Center Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Preference will be given to candidates who have shown a demonstrated commitment to a career as a clinician scientist. Academic line/rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. We expect the successful candidate to provide surgical and non-surgical care for orthopaedic patients and produce scholarly work in the candidate’s major areas of interest, as well as teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students. The successful applicant must be eligible for a California Medical License, hold a doctorate degree, be board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery, and have completed at least one year of hand fellowship.
