Job Description

North Carolina Orthopaedic Clinic, a community-based Duke Orthopaedics faculty practice, seeks an ABOS certified (or eligible) Orthopaedic Surgeon with fellowship training in Sports Medicine to join its group of eight surgeons, one podiatrist. The position is a community-based academic opportunity with a ready-made referral base of primary care physicians.  The position has the advantages of Duke Health System academic resources and benefits in a production based financial model.  Options are available to participate in teaching for the fellowship and residency programs and research opportunities at the main Duke campus. The ideal candidate will have a record of academic pursuit, experience in managing complex sports medicine problems, and an interest in teaching residents and fellows.  Engagement with the clinical and/or basic science research efforts within the Duke Division of Sports Medicine is expected.  The position also includes the opportunity to serve as a team physician for Elon University Athletics.  The clinic location is housed on the Durham/Chapel Hill border just a few miles from the Duke University campus with Physical Therapy and hand/OT onsite.  Visit North Carolina Orthopaedic Clinic | Durham, NC | Duke Health The practice is located in the heart of North Carolina’s greater Triangle area of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill.  The area offers many options in housing and choices for active outdoor and social lives.  The Research Triangle Park, a globally prominent high-tech research and development center conceived around the three academic centers in the region, has made the area culturally diverse, economically resilient and nationally recognized as a great place to live and work.
