Responsibilities The Mayo Clinic Health System Department of Orthopedic Surgery is seeking a non-operative Family Medicine / Sports Medicine physician to join our practice in Austin/Albert Lea. Candidates must be comfortable evaluating and treating shoulder, hip, knee, foot and ankle diagnoses. This is a busy practice in a financially stable organization, committed to both high quality patient care and patient satisfaction.  Comprehensive Team includes Athletic Trainers, Physician Assistants and Orthopedic Surgeons Proficiency in diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound, is a plus Encouraged to pursue Research interests and Teaching opportunities Ability to work collectively with well-established referral resources, to grow practice and niche interests Competitive compensation and benefits package, which includes generous vacation time, funded CME and relocation assistance Qualifications: Board-Certified/Board-Eligible in Family Medicine with sub-specialty certification in Sports Medicine Eligible for medical licensure in Minnesota Site Description: Albert Lea is a community of 18,000 in scenic Southern MN, surrounded by several lakes and located just 90 minutes south of Minneapolis and 60 miles from Mayo Clinic in Rochester.  Excellent family amenities include a community focus on education (new high school, superb test scores), 38 city parks, 6 nearby golf courses, cultural events, festivals, performing arts, 250 miles of groomed snowmobile trails, Blazing Star Recreational Trail, and Audubon Nature and Wildlife Preserve.  Austin is a community of 23,000 surrounded by prairies, rivers and valleys just 90 minutes south of Minneapolis/St. Paul and 40 minutes west of Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
