Job Description

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Stanford University seeks a board certified/eligible orthopaedic surgeon to join the department at the Assistant or Associate Professor level on the University Medical Line (UML) or on the Clinician Educator Line (CE). The department has a special interest in applicants with experience in robotic hip and knee replacement, outpatient total joint replacement, anterior hip replacement and/or revision hip and knee replacement. Applicants with a minimum of three years of experience will be given preference. The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Medical Center Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. The major criterion for appointment in the Clinician Educator Line is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care and clinical teaching that advances clinical medicine appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. While not required, Clinician Educators may also engage in scholarly activities and/or perform in an administrative role. Academic line/rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. We expect the successful candidate to provide surgical and non-surgical care for orthopaedic patients and (for MCL) produce scholarly work in the candidate’s major areas of interest, as well as teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students.
