Job Description The School of Medicine – Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a highly motivated, engaged, and committed Medical Education Manager who is interested in joining a fast-paced, highly productive team. Our Orthopaedic service talent teams include: Attending Physicians, Fellow/Resident Physicians, Extender Practitioners, Nurses, ATC/OTCs, Clinical Administrative Coordinators, Research Faculty, Research Technical Teams, and Students. Our clinicians have clinical locations in Columbia, Jefferson City, Boonville, Liberty, and Springfield. The ideal candidate will play an instrumental role in the success of sustaining our department’s mission: advance the clinical, research and teaching components of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Missouri. This position will partner with departmental staff to support the overall culture and advancement of the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute and C3 Orthopaedics Initiative (Comprehensive, Cutting Edge, Caring Culture), which fosters a fast learning and continuously improving organization to further our mission. Problem Solving The Medical Education Manager partners with the Department’s Medical Education Faculty and Staff Leadership and the Office of Graduate Medical Education. All ACGME requirements must be strictly followed and coordinated with policies set forth by the institution, along with numerous other State and Federal Guidelines. Position overview: 1. Provides oversight and direction for the day-to-day full-year cycle operations of the residency program, which includes recruitment, graduations, and onboarding. Addresses individual resident/trainee performance, deficiencies, or delinquencies to prevent significant issues with the completion of Graduate Medical training, meeting all core guidelines, timeframes, and outcomes.   2. Manages and oversees residency, medical students, and fellowship programs.  3. Partner with the Medical Education Leadership team to develop, administer, and coordinate complex clinical rotation and on-call schedules for residents and other learners. Ensure all rotation schedules are fully supported by appropriate sites and preceptors. 4. In conjunction with the Program Director, develops the annual residency work schedule and project planning for the accreditation cycle. 5. Assures required Program Letters of Agreement and Affiliation Agreements are in place for all off-site rotations. 6. Maintains residency program records and evaluations; completes program reports in accordance with accreditation standards, tracks participant progress through the program for completion of requirements; coordinates information required for ongoing program recertification. 7. Coordinates regular and special educational conferences for Faculty and Residents, as appropriate. 8. Participates in the development of policies and procedures for the training program. 9. Coordinates annual in-training examinations, including scheduling appropriate secure testing sites, ordering examinations, scheduling proctors, receiving materials, and returning materials to the appropriate specialty board. 10. Prepares for, organizes, and participates in site visits, annual program updates, and program internal reviews, including arrangements for rooms, food service, and scheduling the site visitor meetings with faculty, residents, and administrative representatives. 11. Partner with the Residency faculty leadership on an ongoing basis to ensure that the residency program maintains compliance with ACGME, RRC, and specialty board requirements. 12. Maintains ongoing accreditation documentation in the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) WebAds System
