Assistant Professor Orthopaedic Total Joints

The Department of Orthopaedics at Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School is staffed by 17 highly trained clinical and basic science faculty members. The many activities of our faculty are based on our abiding desire to help our patients, who suffer from a wide variety of bone and joint conditions, through progressive research and educational programs and ultimately through state-of- the-art orthopaedic care.

The clinical program focuses on expert, comprehensive patient care and encompasses all orthopaedic subspecialties: trauma; bone and joint conditions in children; foot and ankle conditions and injuries; hand and microvascular surgery; musculoskeletal oncology and limb salvage; spine injuries and conditions; sports medicine and arthroscopy; total joint replacement and adult reconstruction.The clinical practices of the faculty are organized through the Department of Orthopaedics, North Jersey Orthopaedics Institute. The Institute has offices at the Cancer Center (205 South Orange Avenue) on the Newark campus and in the Medical Arts Center of Overlook Hospital in Summit. The faculty also sees patients through the Orthopaedics Clinic at University Hospital in Newark.

All clinical and basic science faculty are strongly committed to patient-based research, through the Orthopaedic Clinical Research Center, and basic science research carried out in the orthopaedic research laboratories. Both are housed in the Medical Science Building (MSB) on the Newark campus. Clinical and basic science research efforts are also integrated with those of other academic institutions within New Jersey.

As part of their scholastic efforts, faculty members are continuously involved in diverse educational programs directed at medical students, post-graduate students at the Masters and PhD levels, and orthopaedic residents. Many of our faculty act as speakers, moderators and organizers of scientific meetings and symposia locally, nationally and overseas.
