The Medical College of Georgia Department of Surgery at Augusta University is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to serve in the division of Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery. Qualified candidates should be board-certified in plastic surgery with a minimum of 0-3 years of experience and completed a microsurgery fellowship. We seek a dynamic surgeon and educator, ideally with fellowship training in reconstructive microsurgery that can perform free flap procedures that include breast reconstruction, trunk flaps, head and neck reconstruction flaps, hand and lower extremities flaps. This qualified candidate will be able to work collaboratively with other services in our Health System such as Surgical Oncology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, and Trauma.
The Medical College of Georgia, founded in 1828, is the 13th-oldest medical school in the United States. It is the 8th largest public medical school in the country, with 260 students currently matriculating per class. MCG is the medical school of the state of Georgia with 200 volunteer surgeons serving as faculty throughout our regional campuses. AU Health, the primary teaching hospital affiliated with MCG, is a 450-bed academic health system positioned for significant growth in the next five years. The Department of Surgery will prioritize the development of innovative approaches to surgical education and health systems research as we execute on our tripartite mission over the next five years.
