Job Description The School of Medicine – Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a highly motivated, engaged, and committed Workforce Operations Coordinator who is interested in joining a fast-paced, highly productive team. Our Orthopaedic service talent teams include: Attending Physicians, Fellow/Resident Physicians, Extender Practitioners, Nurses, ATC/OTCs, Clinical Administrative Coordinators, Research Faculty, Research Technical Teams, and Students. Our clinicians have clinical locations in Columbia, Jefferson City, Boonville, and Springfield. The ideal candidate will play an instrumental role in the success of sustaining our department’s mission: advance the clinical, research and teaching components of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Missouri. This position will partner with departmental staff to support the overall culture and advancement of the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute and C3 Orthopaedics Initiative (Comprehensive, Cutting Edge, Caring Culture), which fosters a fast learning and continuously improving organization to further our mission. Problem Solving Position overview: • Coordinate staffing needs, which includes but is not limited to; personnel requisitions, creation of new positions, reclassification of positions, compliance, interviews, and tracking  • Manage onboarding and offboarding process of departmental faculty and staff • Partner with departmental part-time employee manager, fiscal office, MU Career Center, and School of Medicine Human Resources on matters related to part-time employees (job postings, onboarding, offboarding, training, yearly increases, work-study) • Coordinate with MU Health Care team at Capital Region Medical Center/Cox Regional Medical Center and senior departmental staff in the onboarding of our Orthopaedic Surgeons based out of our Jefferson City and Springfield locations • Collaborate with MU Health Care Human Resources offices to facilitate volunteers  • Facilitate job shadowing experiences for high school and college students • Facilitate observation/fellowship experiences for external MD, DO, DPM and career researchers from around the world wishing to learn from our Orthopaedic Surgeons • Partner with external stakeholders, MU Health Care Human Resources, and divisional service line offices to facilitate Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner and Chiropractic student rotations  • Coordinate with various internal and external department members to create onboarding itineraries for all new faculty and staff members  • Plan and execute staff recognition events and bi-monthly departmental staff meetings • Ensure staff have the tools to do their job and facilitate accesses, badge requests, and keys to offices  • Maintain and update departmental databases and protocols
