Job Description

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery within the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego (http://ortho.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is seeking highly skilled and experienced Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Surgeons to join our team. Responsibilities: • Perform a wide range of surgical and non-surgical treatments for sports-related injuries including joint injuries, fractures, soft tissue, and ligament damage. • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists, including sports medicine physicians, anesthesiologists, and radiologists to provide comprehensive care to patients. • Develop and implement evidence-based care pathways and clinical practice guidelines for sports medicine patients. • Participate in educational activities, including teaching and mentoring residents and fellows. • Participate in research activities, including clinical trials and/or basic science research to advance the field of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and contribute to the advancement of orthopaedic sports medicine through research and publications. The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience.
