The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a Sports Medicine fellowship trained surgeon certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery for the position of Chief of the Sports Medicine Service. Affiliated with Harvard Medical School, this position offers a stimulating environment of both a clinical practice and full-time academic appointment within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a renowned Sports Medicine Service at Massachusetts General Hospital. The ideal candidate should be qualified for an Associate Professor appointment at Harvard Medical School. Furthermore, the candidate should have significant expertise in all aspects of care for the sports medicine patient including complex reconstruction of the knee and shoulder and an in-depth knowledge and understanding of translational research, knee and shoulder kinematics, and biomechanics. Prior experience as a team physician for professional, collegiate, high school or other teams is required, as is exceptional experience in program development and a demonstrated success in leadership roles.
