Orthopaedic Surgery: Trauma Faculty Position DESCRIPTION The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UC Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a highly qualified accredited orthopedic trauma fellowship-trained surgeon to complement its comprehensive trauma program. The position will serve in the Faculty Senate Clinical-X series with an academic rank commensurate with their experience and qualifications. The UC Davis Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is the premier surgical service provider in the greater Sacramento region and beyond and is based on the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento, California. Sacramento is an easily accessible, family-oriented city in close proximity to the San Francisco Bay area, Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the California coast, and Napa Valley. REQUIREMENTS This position will provide inpatient and outpatient care at UC Davis Health. This position will also include the teaching and supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as participate in departmental meetings, conferences, hospital and departmental committees. This position will participate in evening/weekend/holiday call for our UC Davis Health Hospital System. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS The candidate must possess an M.D. (or equvalent), have completed an approved Orthopaedic Surgery residency program, be board certified or eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery and be fellowship-trained in Orthopaedic Trauma. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in the State of California and/or have an active California medical license prior to appointment start date. Must have experience in and the ability to teach medical students, residents, and fellows. Candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and adhere to University policy and procedures. Demonstrated teaching experience in an academic clinical setting is preferred. Candidates in the Clinical X series must demonstrate the ability and experience to conduct scholarly/clinical/translational research, and must provide evidence of experience obtaining extramural funding and/or administering clinical trials (preferred).
