The Department of Orthopaedics at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking applications for faculty positions to grow their multidisciplinary musculoskeletal research program. Faculty positions are currently available at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor level on the tenure-eligible track.
Specific areas of focus for these positions include systems biology, epigenetics, forward genetics, developmental biology of the spine and stem cell biology for soft tissue repair and regeneration.
Candidates for the Assistant Professor position(s) must hold a doctorate degree or equivalent with a highly productive post-doctoral training. Candidates must demonstrate national prominence and scientific leadership in one or more of the above areas of interest. Priority will be given to those who have previously secured extra-mural funding.
Candidates for the Associate and Professor level position(s) should lead a robust extramurally funded program in one or more of the above focus areas and will be expected to sustain a highly prolific program in musculoskeletal research.
Successful candidates will be expected to develop collaborations with clinician scientists in the Department of Orthopaedics and within the musculoskeletal research community. They will also be encouraged to interact with broader collaborative community of researchers at Emory University as well as other partnering institutions.
Generous start-up funds and laboratory space will be provided with a primary appointment in the Department of Orthopaedics and a secondary appointment in an appropriate basic science Department within Emory School of Medicine.
While these positions are not focused on teaching, participation in the overall education mission of the University will be highly recommended.
