Baylor College of Medicine and Department Summary: The Orthopaedic Surgery service is the premier orthopaedics surgical provider in the greater Houston region and beyond, including south and eastern Texas with international patients as well. The pediatric orthopaedic program includes 19 pediatric orthopaedists spread across 3 Hospital campuses and is ranked by U.S. News and World Report in pediatric orthopaedics. Houston is soon to be the 3rd largest city in the US, is easily accessible with 2 airports, and includes a vibrant culture, outstanding educational and recreational opportunities, affordable housing, and mild winters. Summary Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine are seeking a full-time, board eligible and/or board certified, fellowship trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon to join their team of well-respected surgeons. Interest and skills in trauma, including pelvic and acetabular fractures, as well as limb deformity correction are preferred.  It would be expected that the successful recruit would be the Orthopaedist of the day at the Medical Center location for surgical trauma cases 3 or 4 days per work week, and would also include night and weekend call.This position will oversee the trauma service at The Medical Center, with access to an urgent room every day of the week, and will work with our other orthopaedic surgeons to elevate the care of pediatric trauma patients. Job Duties In accordance with the mission of Texas Children's, this position will teach (fellows, residents, and medical students) from 3 different residency programs in the greater Houston area and perform original research. The surgeon will also participate in departmental and hospital committees and meetings. Ultimately, the recruit would be expected to organize and develop the Orthopaedic Trauma service, and take it to a higher level clinically and academically as the eventual Chief of the Trauma service.  Minimum Qualifications M.D. Successful completion of the ACGME Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Successful completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedics, Trauma, or Limb Deformity Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with the successful recruit's experience and qualifications.         Baylor College of Medicine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action/Equal Access Employer.  7520
