Job Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine is searching for a full-time faculty member at any rank.  The appointee will have inpatient and outpatient responsibilities in the context of a career in academic medicine.  Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity.  We especially welcome applicants with an interest and training in the combination of hip preservation surgery, sports medicine, and arthroplasty of the hip who could build a practice rapidly.  Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board certified or Board eligible in orthopaedic surgery, 4) have completed an ACGME approved orthopaedic surgery residency or its equivalent, and 5) have completed ACGME approved fellowships or their equivalent in each of the three subspecialty areas directly relevant to the specialization: hip preservation, sports, and arthroplasty.
